The nice yellow tint that everything in Memphis has in the spring might be pretty (if your crazy) but to me it means nasty glass that will not stay clean. Some people advocate waiting to get their windows cleaned. If you are a home owner, that is a good idea. If you are a commercial store front that is the worst idea.

Your windows are a reflection of your store. If the windows look horrible......well, you get the picture. We all remember walking into a waffle house and looking at the maple syrup little kid hand prints on the glass....nasty glass just doesn't encourage me to want to eat at a place. Of course, being in the window cleaning profession I am a bit biased, but I have noticed, from being in the kitchens of many, many restaurants, that the amount of care and attention the place gives to their windows is a very good indicator of how clean things are in the back of the house.

I remember early on in my window cleaning business doing a national chain restaurant (which I will not name here) that would only pay to get their windows cleaned once a month. Granted, they were filthy within three days but cleaning "wasn't in their budget." I remember going back into the kitchen to get some water for my bucket and looking at them prepare food and I realized just how "nasty" it was back there. I never ate there again nor at that particular chain. On the other hand, look at Houston's Restaurant...They windows are touched up daily. The floor is clean enough to eat off of and guess what, they kitchen....spotless. If the windows are clean, you can bet the kitchen is too.

Commercial accounts need their windows cleaned frequently. We do work in other sections of the the state and you would be amazed at how clean the windows are there. Everyone wants them done weekly because they love to be able to see out of their glass.

Home owners just wait until the pollen settles and give us a call. We will try to remove the allergies from your windows. Maybe we can all breath a little bit better after that.

new window cleaning venture

Byrd Window Cleaning is about to begin a new line of services for our customers. Here is a tip for you. Go to your local auto parts store and look at the car cleaning supply aisle. Look for their chamois. Usually they are made of synthetic fibers that will wick water away. What you can do is take those chamois and wash the glass with them. Put some dawn in some warm water, put your chamois in the solution and wring it out. They, wash the glass. Use a towel, one that doesn't have any lint on it and wipe off the glass and there you go. It will make your glass look great and it isn't much of a hassle.

Don't forget to register to vote

The primaries will be coming up soon and these week is the last week, at least in arkansas, that you can register to vote in the primaries.

Washing Windows in the Cold

it is freezing in Memphis. This isn't true. When your windows are washed they are freed from dirt, grime, oils, pollen and many other things that are attracted to your windows. When it rains after they are washed, the rain is able to drain off of the glass instead of clinging to it because all of the foreign materials are off of the glass. To keep your glass clean throughout the year you must get them cleaned often. We recommend every two weeks for most stores.

We service Northwest Arkansas for all their window cleaning needs

We opened our first window cleaning franchise in Fayetteville Arkansas in 2006. It simply isn't. The best that it can do is smudge dirty glass around and make everything look foggy. If you insist on doing your own glass, do yourself a favor and get a squeegee and put some warm water and a little bit of dawn into your bucket and wash them that way. At least this way when we have to come around and fix the glass it won't be so dirty. :-)

Time to get your windows cleaned

okay, it is the start of the new year.
