Contracts or no contracts for window cleaning
I am debating on integrating contracts for all window cleaning that is done by byrd window cleaning. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone on the pros or cons of using contracts within this industry. Contracts, are quite common for larger jobs, but for the average store front or house contracts are not the norm.
Up north, and in europe contracts are the norm. I am leaning more to integrating contracts into this business.

Temps in Memphis on the rise
The recent temps have made me quite glad that Byrd Window Cleaning isn't in Michigan. I take back everything bad I have ever said about the heat in Memphis. I would welcome the heat after this last week. We will wash in the cold, but we don't have to like it.
Now that the temps are rising we can go back to our normal window cleaning solution. The "special" solution is dang expensive. Good thing we don't have to use that to often.

French Panes help?
so your French pane glass is a mess and you really don't know how to clean them. Here is a tip for you. Go to your local auto parts store and look at the car cleaning supply aisle. Look for their chamois. Usually they are made of synthetic fibers that will wick water away. What you can do is take those chamois and wash the glass with them. Put some dawn in some warm water, put your chamois in the solution and wring it out. They, wash the glass. Use a towel, one that doesn't have any lint on it and wipe off the glass and there you go. It will make your glass look great and it isn't much of a hassle.
Don't forget to register to vote
The primaries will be coming up soon and these week is the last week, at least in arkansas, that you can register to vote in the primaries.

Washing Windows in the Cold
it is freezing in Memphis. Most window washers stayed home in bed....what did we do? We were out washing. If our regular cleaning solution can't be used due to the extreme temps we innovate. Our "special" solution we use on cold days lets us wash windows even when it is down to single digits. What is this "special" solution that we use? I will give you one guess, "sesame seed bun and special sauce" .............you really didn't think I would tell you? Did you?
Window washing and the rain
a lot of people think that if the windows are going to get rained on it is pointless to wash them. This isn't true. When your windows are washed they are freed from dirt, grime, oils, pollen and many other things that are attracted to your windows. When it rains after they are washed, the rain is able to drain off of the glass instead of clinging to it because all of the foreign materials are off of the glass. To keep your glass clean throughout the year you must get them cleaned often. We recommend every two weeks for most stores.
